Zimbabwe Ministry April 23-May 28

April 24  Fly to Sydney then Johannesburg and Harare. have now settled in Harare and talked with some friends and ministry leaders and organized local phone etc. Things have got a little tougher with power of for up to 18 hours a day and that effects nearly everything you do. Our discipleship books will only arrive from South Africa tonight. We have had a number of issues over a period of three weeks transporting them here. This is a long and involved story which I will tell later but we live on daily miracles here it’s the only way survive and minister. I have learnt at times not even to ask questions of people that would cause you to worry more but rather to pray for God to intervene as only He can. But the positive is that daily you clearly see God at work. Will be ministering here in Harare tomorrow then start a week of ministry with a groups of Churches in the Park Town area April 25-30, Bulawayo May 1-2. Hwange and Tinde May 3-9. Then Harare May 10-11. Then Mvurwi area in West Mashonaland Then Harare again May 16-23. Then Johannesburg South Africa May 24-27.

April 25 Ministry started this morning at Borrowdale community Church a new church plant in the last eight months God spoke they said in a very much word for the time they had about 300 gathering. Then it was out in the afternoon to commence ministry with a group of Churches in the Park Town area which will go on for the next six days.

Tonight’s ministry went very well with much enthusiasm. I have told our Lord I don’t want to be seen as a big person here but I only want Him to glorify Himself and deeply touch lives. I believe this will be one of the best trips yet. Still am recovering from break in foot but I am not hindered in ministry.

April 27 Word is getting around a much larger gathering each night at evangelistic discipleship training. I was approached tonight by a national Church leader who has been asked to speak in three major conferences regarding God’s work in Africa in the state of Texas U.S.A June this year. He asked if he could share my training materials as he shares how it is impacting African Churches in regards to re invigorating evangelism and discipleship in the local Church. Also today met with church leaders  and bible college leaders to organize special training for them and their students May 17-24 They looked at the materials and D.V.D’s today and are very excited about the training and have asked if their Churches can also participate now having to find larger venues.

April 30. Ministering daily and the people are coming in good numbers at many of the night meetings people are skipping meals so they can be part of everything we do. Tonight the meetings ended with great fanfare it was so good to hear the testimonies of the many lives that were touched and changed by the word and power of God. Tomorrow I leave Harare to start ministry Saturday and Sunday in Bulawayo then Monday its of to Hwange and Tinde areas for a week of ministry . I am not sure if I will be able to communicate via the web for the next week if not will write early next week and bring you up to date on what is happening.
May 1st Ministry went well in Bulawayo with good responses and meetig people from previous visits who have continued to grow in their commitment to Christ. Some of the Church leaders said that the descipleship training is having the effect of turning the Churches around to growth in ministry and ministry by their people is causing their churches to grow again.
Moving to hwange today to commence seven days of ministry in Hwange and binga areas.

May 2nd. Good responses at today’s meetings leaders are saying that the training we have done previously with them is starting to turn their Churches around from decline to renewed growth in active discipleship this working out also in the local communities as witnessing has caught a fresh vision.

May 3rd. Ran into the Wesleyan Methodist Bishop of the city of Bulawayo this morning he said please keep coming to teach, preach and train disciples. He said we need it and it is making a difference in the Churches. I will leave Bulawayo this afternoon to drive five hours north to the Binga area to train local pastors and leaders in Evangelistic discipleship training.

May 4th Full days of ministry very warm up here near the Zambian border. One Pastor said that when he started implementing our training two years ago his congregation has doubled and many are now actively involved in ministry and evangelism.

May 6th I now have food poisoning my strength is fleeing from me. Was only able to stand for a little while ministering than asked if I could speak while seated then after another forty five minutes was unable even to sit up in a chair asked a team member to take over so I could for rest a while . Satan has been attacking in strong ways yet we are confident of daily victory.

May 8th Driving to Bulawayo this evening to minister tomorrow as a number of Congregations want to come together on Sunday they heard I was passing through. It seems like one of those divine appointments I haven’t eaten for four days.

May 9th Ministry in Bulawayo went extremely well today. Tonight I will drive six hours to Harare for meetings this week. The drivers including mine have no road sense we have had a number of close calls. I am alive by nothing else than God’s mercy. There is no sense of responsibility for those in the vehicle talk changes things for a little while not sure what to do other than continually pray.

In spite of the difficulties God is at work no doubt as the bible says when I am weak He is strong. Had to have a rest in the middle of my devotions this morning before I continued Gods word is such a tremendous blessing

May 10 I am now in Harare arrived late last night. Have not eaten for five days yet have been able to fulfill ministry as planned just have to lie down and do nothing between sessions. I can see signs of improvement will seek to eat today have appointment with a doctor today.

May13th  Have been working this week and will continue up to Sunday morning in the Heighfields area of Harare the churches have been very responsive to the ministry and the evangelistic discipleship training. My health is improving greatly and I am now ministering without limitations. I will be ministering from Sunday 16th -23rd with a new group of Churches under the name of Harvest International and also training Bible College students in evangelistic discipleship. This will be of great help to them as they plant new Churches here in Zimbabwe for it is essential that all new Churches start of on a strong evangelistic footing.

May 15th  Today was a full day of ministry with many people and Churches coming together for the final day of ministry in the highfield area. Today I spoke to a church leader and he tells me he has started training himself 15 people in the discipleship training he received three weeks ago in the Park Town area. The National leadership boards of the Methodist denomination which is the biggest protestant group in the nation are adopting the training as the way to bring about a new season of growth and revival in their Churches of which there are hundreds. This has come about as they are seeing the effect this ministry is having in many of their Churches over the past three years.

At the end of our Evangelistic Discipleship Training in the highfields area an opportunity was given for those in attendance who over the four days came to realize they themselves weren’t saved to come forward and respond to the gospel and forty responded. It is worth while noting that in all our Churches there are many who are religious but not born again. May God give us incite and wisdom and the spiritual boldness to deal with this very real issue rather than assuming all is okay. Often it is the fear of man that prevents this from happening.

May 19th  Ministering with Churches in a suburban area of Harare in a lower social economic area this week. They can’t stop thanking me for coming to their Churches. They say ministry leaders by pass their areas because of the lower form of accommodation and obviously not a lot of money around. They are taking to the ministry and discipleship training like ducks to water. The interpreters are really loving to work with us it helps them to realize they are also ministers of the gospel. They are so excited about receiving the training books and training D.V.D’s for them to use to continue equipping others. I will keep ministering here in Harare until Sunday evening. Then will fly to South Africa for four days of meeting before flying back to Australia. I need to extend my visa on Thursday I am hoping there will b e no problems with that.

May 20th A number of Pastors approached me regarding the training of a lot more of their Churches from a number of denominations so we are seeing what can happen. Also the books are becoming so popular that many more need to be printed I have made a new contact with a quality printer here in Harare and am at present seeking quotes. And their maybe some local money to help with costs. There is also a keenness to use our training D.V.D’s in the Shona language with locals overseeing the training.

May 21st  Meeting with bible college today designing training for student Pastors

May22nd   Meeting with training college went very well with many Churches opening their doors for training. I will after first training meetings give them D.V.D’s and training manuals so they can continue the work themselves throughout their Churches. I have a local Pastor here who will follow up on the quality control of their ongoing training.

May 24th Yesterday finished Zimbabwe ministry with meetings at Harvest Christian Fellowship good crowd and much discussion about how to implement the message following service. Have now arrived in Johannesburg and will leave for ministry trip at 4:30 am in the morning four and a half hours drive away. Then on Thursday evening return to fly back to Australia.

South Africa 2010 Cape Town

February 25th to March 23rd

February 25th

. I have arrived and moved into my accommodation at Fish Hoek after three flights and 25 hours of travelling. Commence ministry in the morning with disciple ship training with a number of denominational leaders and regional leaders and members of ministry group boards. During the next four weeks we will be working with 40 churches combining in four locations for evangelistic discipleship training and combined outreach meetings as well as a number of local Church preaching in between major meetings. Will seek to write regular reports on Webb page while I am away.

March 1st. Our first combined congregation discipleship day went above expectation the meeting hall was packed out. The openness of the people to learn and participate was very high. The comments at the end of the day was we wish we could have had more time to lean more. Then the pastors said we have many discipleship books on our shelves but nothing as helpful and as practical as this we want to use this as our Churches as our blue print in making disciple.

Yesterday the Sunday services and the combined Churches outreach went well with good responses to the word of God. In the outreach there was a high level of the conviction of the Holy Spirit as He took the word and applied it to individuals.

March 3rd We are now moving to another area until Sunday evening. We will be involved in outreaches and discipleship training each day.

March 4th Ministry in the area of Bonteheuwel/Vahala Park where a number of Churches are coming together from around the regions is going well. People are very open to grow with a good number of men and young people in the crowd. We are having days of evangelistic discipleship training then outreaches in between further training and ministry. Then at the end of the week we come together in larger outreaches and on Sunday afternoons a combined revival rally of surrounding Churches. We are doing this at each f the four regional areas each week. We are using more books than expected may have to get more transported from the printer.

The concept that everybody is an anointed empowered minister of Christ is taking off with great excitement with many suddenly finding they have a great purpose in life. There is also an excitement in Church leadership as they see the fruit of equipping all the saints for ministry. Yes we are slowly but surely killing the false doctrine of what has been called laity.

March 8th. We have just completed training and outreaches at Bonteheuwel/Vahala park areas with great responses and great excitement from many in the Churches who now see themselves as official ministers of Christ. Yesterday before the combined Churches Zone rally many stood up and gave testimony to how God spoke deeply into their hearts about being ministers who make evangelistic disciples .We may have to order more books from the printers as news is spreading and more training meeting are being added as more churches want to be trained.

A great story. I was out walking this morning when I heard a man call out Lester Kelly so I turned and went over to him. He then he told me he had been in one of our training meetings and showed me his student manual and bible which he was carrying with him. Then he said come and meets the man I today am starting to disciple a Muslim man who was turning fully to Christ. So the three of us went to a local fish and chip shop where this Muslim man bought us breakfast and we talked about Christ together. Then he says I am coming to your new area at Montague village for disciple training tonight and tomorrow.
March 9th. This week is a very full week of ministry with Churches coming together in the Heideveld area and Manenburg and Hanover Park. Please keep praying for a deep work of God’s Holy Spirit in many lives.

March 15th Meeting progressing well with very well attended meetings and a growing enthusiasm for evangelistic discipleship with many already putting it into practice and meeting with those who they intend to disciple this year. I need to print more books and am now while I am here starting to write study and discussion guides to go with DVD series that will be used for ongoing training.

This week I am also meeting with Pastors and leaders to help them to plan in such a way that the work continues in their local Churches. The key is that it is not yet another program but a life time lifestyle of multiplying effective evangelistic disciples. A number of Churches are re assessing their weekly programs and asking the question is what we do helping to make effective disciples that see themselves as ministers of Christ in their local communities.

This week we are ministering in new regions with Churches coming together for training and outreach in Factreton Wellington, Montague and Manenburg areas.

March 17th. Ministry is going very well with many Churches greatly impacted. Met with Pastors today who shared how this has been Gods timing and is greatly impacting them and their people. We have hundreds of people starting the process of discipling others in practical daily evangelistic discipleship. Will be sending them DVD’s soon to go with their training materials.

Many Pastors are now using the material themselves personally and also continuing to equip their Churches with what I have trained them with. The Latest revised edition is proving very effective.  Have now been approached by three other cities in South Africa to do similar training for them, word is spreading. I move up country tomorrow for two days of ministry then returning Saturday evening for ministry here on Sunday.

I fly out on Monday to Australia and New Zealand then home for Easter and then back to Zimbabwe in the third week of April.

March 21st. Finished ministry in Cape Town today. This has been a very successful trip with many doors opening for ongoing training. And many Pastors and leaders are meeting with their Churches this week to continue intensive evangelistic discipleship training. I have been asked to think about doing a training series in Africans language to assist those who struggle to pick up concepts in English. I today had very good feedback from local pastors and denominational leaders. On Tuesday a load of training books head to Zimbabwe to be ready for ministry in April and May. So tomorrow I start the long journey back home before flying to New Zealand for further ministry.

March 25th. Well here I am again at another airport waiting for a flight to Auckland New Zealand.

March 26th. Now arrived it is midnight after two hours e.g. 2:00am I have cleared customs and on way to the accommodation for the night or what’s left of it as I must arise in four hours to again head of to Auckland airport to fly south to New Plymouth.

Now at New Plymouth and have just completed a live half hour radio interview about why I am here and what I am doing and had lunch with some Christian leaders.

It is now 10:00 pm and I have finished the first two hour session with a combined group of Churches on how to understand and reach the lost now looking forward to some sleep.

March  26th. Four training sessions today and tonight a continuation from yesterday a part of this is that I am preparing Churches for when I come again in September for a combined Churches outreach.

March 30th. Ministry training went very well there is a keenness to be prepared by God to seriously learn how to effectively enter the lives of the lost so as to share Christ. There is also a great struggle as people realize the personal cost to do this as they enter for many unfamiliar territory. It is very comfortable and much less threatening to stay in our familiar space with likeminded people.

In some ways I sensed a presence of Gods Holy Spirit in New Zealand that is stronger than in our own country the people were great to be with. Now we start the hard yards in preparation for combined Church outreach in September.

Next ministry is in Gatton then it is back to Africa for five weeks ministry in Zimbabwe. Lester

What others have said !!! - I am so thankful you came to Zimbabwe. Last year you came to our city Of Geri and I told you you I wasn't good enough for God and walked away at the end of the meeting. This year I realized that by trusting my life to Jesus Christ He makes me more than good enough for God. I am so thankful. Bob
